Cavendish Bar 1837 – The story behind the name
Amongst the valuable plants that Charles Telfair created and propagated in
Bel Ombre was a dwarf banana tree that became fashionable in England during the early 1800’s. The commercial rights to this popular banana were bought by Lord Cavendish in 1837 who gave it his name. |
